5月26日梅雨入りまじかの木曜日、ＮＣＴＭＣの第58回例会が開催されました

到着時刻は遅れてしまったものの、自分の役割説明にはギリギリ間に合い、ホッ。。。

久しぶりの例会参加でちょっと緊張していましたが、会場のにぎやかな雰囲気で、すぐにリラックス

本日のＴＭＯＥのＩさん、さすがベテランです。
所々にユーモアを交え、落ち着いた司会ぶりにも関わらず、しっかり聴衆の笑いを取っていました。

さて、準備スピーチトップバッターはアイスブレーカーのＳさん。
Ｓさんの趣味や経験話を通して、Ｓさんの人柄がストレートに伝わってきたスピーチでした。

続きまして、Ｋさんのスピーチ。課題のボディーランゲージをしっかり意識され、植物を自然に身体で表現されていたのが新鮮でした！
私も植物は好きなのですが、なぜか枯らしてしまうことが多いのです。育て方のコツを伝授してもらいたい・・・

さて、準備スピーチ3番手はＳさん。「おいなりさん」と聞けば、もちろん、いなりずし好きな私が連想するのは食べ物。
でも、最終的には信仰に対する日本人の心持ちにまでつながる、アイデアあふれるスピーチでした。

本日のスピーチ、ラストを飾るのはＪさん。
オーストリアをオーストラリアと紹介する、ＴＭＯＥのむちゃ振り（？）にも、聴衆の笑いをとって返していたのが流石です

そして、論評の総合司会を務めたのは、Ｋさん。
初めての総合論評にも関わらず、ユーモアを入れながらの総合論評は、とても楽しかったです

さてさて、終盤は年に一度の役員選挙
選挙も無事に終了し、7月からの新役員メンバーが出そろいました。

そして、最後は新会員Ｉさんの入会式

今日の例会で、新会長はじめ、それぞれの新役員の熱意のこもった決意表明を聞いて、これからのＮＣＴＭＣもますます期待が持てると実感しています


　　　

When I entered the room, TM Su was about to end her introduction about the today’s table topic

– related to food and this is a familiar subject to everyone. Do you remember
what you ate last night? Do you remember a meal you had with someone special?
Any topic that was pleasant or unpleasant at table?

The speech session started with TM O, the ice breaker. Welcome to the club! I hope our

club will meet your expectations and we love to get to know you better. As TM I
said in his evaluation, your long journey of TM life has just begun.

The second speech was presented by TM P. He reflected his life in his speech with a
message “Nobody’s 100% lucky”. While being lucky, he worked hard for it. And
even with hard work, there were times when he did not get what he wanted. TM J
pointed out in her evaluation the effective repetition of the title “luck and
hard work”, which showed the candid feelings of TM P. Keep on moving, TM P,
luck will be beside you.

The third speaker, TM IC, raised his hand to be a speaker two days before the meeting.
Despite short preparation time his speech was full of information regarding
“the nation’s top pastime” and clear message to TV watchers: control
yourselves. It was a shocking fact to me that watching TV was the most favorable
pastime activity in Japan.

The last speaker was TM M, introducing us “social enterprises”, organizations that provide
financial support to “small people”, help young people in becoming independent
or developing their entrepreneurship. 
“Where there is a will, there is a way” - a saying was remembered at the
end of his speech and his message was also that to start and act for good of
people, the society and the world is important.

 

The best speake award went to TM M, the best evaluator to TM J, and the best table topic to TM
Sa.

After the
education session, the induction ceremony was conducted to welcome TM K and TM Sh.
The club officer candidates for the next term were also announced, the election
will be held on 24 May.

Though I was late, the meeting started on time, according to TM GC, and ended. TM Oh,
congratulations on serving TMOE for the first time. And tonight’s speakers were
all candid about their thoughts on their speech subjects. Candid, by the way,
was the word of the evening.

 

 

 

 

 

Meeting started as usual on 7.00 pm withfew members. Many of the members were late appealing that Japan has notrecovered from 11 March Disaster. Our President  TM .C as usual with her pleasant smile greeted the members andannounced TMOE who is no other than herself!! May be after a period of 12months she is taking the role of TMOE in this club.

 

TMOE, started withthe introduction of guests, expressing happiness over the arrival of guests as the previousmeeting seems to have no guests. 5 guests – veteran guest going to becomemember, Toastmasters of Shimbashi, Japan toastmasters club and one who joinedToastmaster at yokohama 4 or 5 years back and first time visitors. Visitors arenot exceptional, they also poured in while meeting was getting hotter.

 

Now the meeting moved to the most awaitedsession of the evening - Business session…

Started with the role introductions….thenstarts the confusion….. Responsible persons not there… change of duties but theresponsible persons came to the meeting on time.

TM C explained the Timer task supported byTMOE, Grammarian role well explained by TM S and then comes Ah Counter TM I.Even though First time she explained the tasks beautifully with theencouragement of TMOE and VPE. This is the moment which reminds us why we arehere in toast master ?  One of thereason is to encourage others to attempt which we have not done in our life!!

 

Now it is the turn of the table topicsmaster…but member is not there. TMOE plans to go to Prepared speech but therecomes an opposition from the floor. Our beloved and respected previouspresident TM F emphasized the preciousness of time and punctuality and giventhe call for other person to take the role… As there was no other person totake the role, TM F came forward and explained the role of Table Topicsmaster and explained the purpose of Table Topics. Now there goes the firstquestion about the power shortage after 11 march disaster….then there comesTable Topics master running and apologizing her delay…… TM F elegantlyhanded over the charge to the TM Ser with a style….. As all of us know, TM Serwas not attending the meeting for past 5 months to our club due to work andpersonal matters, she explained her life full of happenings during the past 4-5months and every one was moved. Now the comes question to cheer up the audiencesuch as  give an instance of happinessafter 11 Mar disaster, then comes the difficult one - what we think ofjishuku and then concluding question and most challenging one of what we doif we are supposed to lead to volunteer the activity of supporting theearthquake hit in Northern Japan….. Speakers gave a spontaneous response to thequestions and TM Ser conclusions was also encouraging…..

 

Word of Evening was announced by TM K.Sunrise a new word that aroused the interest of all the speakers and listeners.We feel gratitude over the effort to introduce new words.

 

Prepared Speech session – TM O had a speechon CC#3 on a wonderful topic “Last Week” Next comes splendid speech by TM K onthe power cut “Idea :Sustainable lefe 2011,with Full of amusement and wonderfulsuggestions. Followed is speech by TM D on a social matter which moved everyone listening to the speech and then comes the TM Y educative speech “Man inthe mirror” on the SWOT Analysis.

 

After the intermission, there was asplendid evaluations from TM S, TM P, TM F, and TM M. All the evaluations wasvery educative and encouraging. After the evaluations, there were reports byGrammarian TM S and reporting the good usages and AH counter TM I coming upwith the number of AH counts in the speeches. Evaluation sessions was managedbetter by TM C and was specially congratulated by TMOE as it was his maideneffort.

 

TMOE then announced the Winners of theTable Topics, Evaluator and Speaker to ows TM J, TM S and TM K respectively.

Two important announcements followed.Induction of new member to the Club with enormous majority. Congrats to TM OLooking forward to your speech and club activity.

TM Fcongratulated TM C and TM Y forbecoming Top in the Division C Contest and looking forward to their success in the Kyoto Contest. One more point TM F informed to the members is about the Officers election and seems vacancy arethere and expecting interested members to file nominations……

 

Meeting ended in a good note from President that nextmeeting will be a excellent one and all the mistakes and inadequate preparationwill be covered……Now move to second Party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3月31日、日本橋センチュリートーストマスターズクラブ
第54回例会が行われました。この日は東日本大震災後、初の例会となったため、以下の例会記録も震災関連の話題を重点的にクローズアップして書かせていただきます。

当初は開催の是非について議論がなされましたが、G会長のリーダーシップのもと、多数決で開催となりました。結果、十数名の会員が集まり、ほぼ1人1役で開催することができました。また、当初はTMOE(今夜のトーストマスター)が決まらなかったのですが、K藤さんが初挑戦ながら引受けてくださり、とてもしっかりした準備および司会進行をされました。

 

 

今回は第5週ということもあり、今回はバイリンガル(日英切り替え)での進行となりました。スピーチは4本。最初のスピーカー、I口さんは、トーストマスターズで初めてのスピーチ(アイスブレーカー)。「私」という題で、広島出身であることと、海外に行き、現地の学校で教壇に立つ機会があった時に感じた「広島代表」としての自分、そして今回の震災のことと自分ができることについて、幅広く話されました。広島への愛情が特に強く感じられる内容でした。震災を機に日本に住む人が「日本」を多く意識することになったこの時期、参加者も皆、自分の出身地、出身国のことをスピーチを聞いて思い起こしたのではないでしょうか。

 

2番目のスピーカーは韓国出身のTさんで今回2回目のご挑戦。ご自身の日本語との関わりやこれまで学んできた経歴を、失敗談なども含めてユーモラスに語られました。結果を考えすぎず、まずは挑戦することの意義がわかるスピーチでした。

3番目のスピーカーは、宮城県ご出身のO江さん。「タミさんのパン焼き器」というタイトルで、「聴衆を奮い立たせる」というスピーチ目標通り、大変心を打つ内容のスピーチでした。通販などでも広く販売されている「タミさんのパン焼き器」の発明者である「タミさん」は、実はO江さんのご親戚。「おしんの何倍も働いた」タミさんの戦前から今までの歩みと震災後の現況、そしてタミさんの歩んだ戦後復興期と今回の東日本大震災からの日本の復興を重ね合わせて聴衆を勇気づけ、ベストスピーカーを取りました。

 

4番目のスピーカー(英語)は、ベテランスピーカーのI田さん。”Just Do It”というタイトルで、躊躇せずにとにかくやってみることの重要性について述べられました。設立時から日本橋CMTCに大いに貢献して下さり、お互いに学んできたI田さんですが、3月末で日本橋クラブを離れ、ご自身が会長を務める千代田TMCに絞って活動されることになりました。とはいえ、日本橋と千代田は姉妹クラブの関係、今後も合同例会やコンテストなど、色々なところでお会いできることでしょう!

 

テーブルトピックスを急遽引き受けられたI間さんは、「喜怒哀楽」というテーマで、「嬉しかったこと」「怒ったこと」「楽しかったこと」などについて質問されました。回答者の約半数が震災関連、それ以外の方が別の話題を選ばれました。

電力不足の影響で、特に平日夜クラブは会場閉鎖や会員の減少などの課題を抱えている場所が多くあります。今後は平日クラブ間での集約、統合、曜日変更なども行われることが予想されます。ただし日本橋センチュリーTMCは、比較的会場が使えることが多いのと、このような状況下での最大の強みとして「住まいが近所の人が多い」ということから、比較的生き残る確率が高いのではないかと思われます。実際、日本橋クラブで最もアクティブに活躍している出席率の高い役員・メンバーは、震災後の会費更新でもほぼ全員が残りました。
今回の震災を日本と日本橋、そして日本橋センチュリートーストマスターズクラブが乗り切れば、文字通り「100年続くクラブ」になり得るかもしれません…

 

 

 

日本橋センチュリー トーストマスターズクラブ発起人です。

本日2011年4月3日、日本橋は今の石橋になって、100周年を迎えました。
日本橋クラブの正式名称に「センチュリー」と入っているのもここから来ています。当初日本橋では様々なイベントが行われる予定で、発起人も会社の業務の関係上今週末は晴れ着と法被を着て周年イベントに参加することになっていたのですが…東日本大震災の影響で全て中止になってしまいました。

本日日本橋に行ってみたところ、桜は三分咲きの一歩手前でした。写真を撮っている人がいくらか見られたほかは、ひっそりとしていました。原発事故は首都圏にとっても予断を許さない状況が続き、また、いつ今後新たな大地震があるか分からないとも言われている中での100年目。節電対策として、日本橋周辺のライトアップも今は全て消えていますが、ひょっとすると灯りがともらない今の姿のほうが、100年前の日本橋に近いのかもしれません。

発起人の祖母は、20代の時に日本橋から5kmほどの下町にて関東大震災に遭いました。
母は幼少の時に同じく日本橋近くで、東京大空襲に遭いました。
私は日本橋近くに移り住んで2年目で、3.11を迎えました。
人の世代は代わっても、2つの震災と1つの戦争を経て、日本橋は100歳を迎えています。

母も祖母も、今回の震災における今の首都圏よりもずっと過酷な、焼け野原となった東京に残り、日本の復興期に仕事を持って働いていました。原発事故の不安はこれからも続くでしょうが、それでも私は日本が大好き、生まれ育った首都圏が大好きです。昔海外に永住しようとした後に日本に帰国して、そして決めたこと、それは「二度と海外に逃げない」。その思いは今でも変わりません。

なお、クラブの正式名称に「センチュリー」という言葉が入っているもう一つの理由。それは「日本と日本橋の街、そしてそこにある日本橋センチュリートーストマスターズクラブがこれからも、何百年も続きますように」という願いです。

どうか、そうなりますように。そうなるための貢献ができる機会が、これからもあり続けますように。

After an unusually long break of Toastmaster activitiesdue to effects of the recent quake, today we had our area contest, where two ofour members, both officers, competed in English and Japanese speeches,

Our area (Area 32, Division C, District 76) has 5 clubs. And this time we have 2 speakers in the Japanese contest and 5 in the English contest.

It is not a big event, but an exciting one for NTCMC members, and many came in spite of the somewhat inconvenient location.

TM Y, our VP of membership, competed in the Japanese contest and delivered a speech about his road to Vienna as a member of a student orchestra

Speaking in a calm and friendly manner, and not forgetting to add some humour every now and
then, TM Y told us how he could practice playing music with the support of many people around him and how the efforts and team spirit of his orchestra made it possible for them to play in the capital of classical music and finally win the applause of discerning spectators there.

People who heard the earlier version of this speech will notice that the core message has changed. But this is a very good change, both considering the audience and the current situation

TM C's speech has many elements of a great speech, including vocal variety and body language very well planned according to the structure, contents, and emphasis of the speech. In addition, she also
delivered flawlessly, as if everything was precisely calculated.

Even though I have never climbed Mount Fuji, the speech created vivid images in my mind, of
the dangers that happened on the way, of TM C's determination not to give in, and the ultimate joy she could experience when she finally rose to the top

Being club officers, TM C and TM Y have showed us good examples of how to be a great speaker. Congratulations, otsukaresama, and I look forward to your further successes in the division contest

インハウススピーチコンテスト（日本語）の報告です。

 

コンテスタントは4名。

各人持ち時間5-8分で日本語のスピーチをします。

優勝者はリージョナルコンテストの出場権が与えられます。

 

スピーカーは、事前に抽選した順序でスピーチを行います。

緊張感ただよう雰囲気の中、Jさんの司会の元、コンテストがスタート。

 

1番目のスピーカー

KOさん

タイトル：「受験戦争」

お子様とご家族がお子様の中学受験のために捨てなければならなかったこと、それによって得たこと。

 

2番目のスピーカー

AMさん

タイトル：「ガラパゴス」

IT技術は、どんどんグローバル化している。日本のIT技術もそうでなければならないといわれている。

ところが、反対にガラパゴス化（隔離され、独自の進化を）している。

自分の意見は、60%グローバル化あとは、ガラパゴス的進化をすればいいのではないかと思う。

 

3番目のスピーカー

SYさん

タイトル：「日本代表」

外国に行った時、自分が感じたこと。

外国に行った時、自分たち日本人の1人1人の態度は、外国人から見られている。

自分の態度＝日本人全体の印象として現地の人にインプットされる。

各個人がそれを自覚しよう。菅直人だけでなくあなたも日本代表なのだ。

 

4番目のスピーカー

TMさん

タイトル：「日本でいちばん大切にしたい会社」

自分が出会った東大阪の会社とその社長。

外国に押されて競争が激しい製造業。東大阪のこの社長は、押されても押し返す。

強い閉そく感、劣等感に悩んでいた時、この社長との出会いで自分が解放された。

みなさんベテランらしいよく練られたスピーチでした。
結果は1位SYさん、2位TMさんでした。
おめでとうございます！
審査員がベストスピーカーを選んでいる間、インタビューセッションがありました。
各コンテスタントにインタビューアーTOさんが感想や、裏話をうかがいます。

受験を通して学んだことは、今生かされているか？

スピーチの中で自分は変わり者だと言っていたが、どんなときそう思うか？
スピーカー3、SYさんへ
スピーチの中で菅直人だけになにもかも任せて批判することばかりせず、自分も日本代表としてがんばれと言っていたが、どうしたらそれが実現できると思うか？


スピーカー4、TMさんへ
スピーチの中で聴衆ではなく横を向いて話した部分がありましたが、その意図は？
いつもは時間に厳しいToastmaster Mtgですが、元々8名いたコンテスタントが4名になったため、今回はゆったり進みました。


「スピーコンテスト」を観にいらしたゲストの方々には、もしかしたら、スピーチの数が物足りなかったかもしれません。
代わりに、インタビューもたっぷり行われ、リポートには書きませんでしたが、最初の予定にはなかったテーブルトピックセッションも行われました。
ECさんのリードで、「インドの友人いわく、人生には4つのステージがある。その各ステージで、あなたは何をしたいか」という興味深いものでした。


ギターをマスターしてコンサートを開きたいというAさんが、ベストテーブルトピック賞を獲得されていました。
いつものスピーチコンテストは最初から最後まで緊張感がありますが、今回は後半はわきあいあいとしたリラックスした雰囲気でした。
たまにはこんなのもよいかもしれません。

Nihonbashi Century Toastmasters Club Meeting #51 

In-house speech Contest in English was held on 10^th February, 2010.

The Club Meeting started with some announcement from President TM Ca.

She introduced TM Ci, Mr. Philosopher, as Contest Chair.

6 contestants were lined up, then ready to start;

No.1 was TM Y, his speech title “一期一会”. He stated that “Ichigo-Ichie” is only Japanese spirit, no English dictionary. It means only one chance to meet or communicate, so that, don’t be waste to chance to communicate.
Next, TM S, her title was “Friend”. Her episode at Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany 1984, was talked whether she could meet a good correspondent friend at that time of Berlin,or not. The third contestant was TM M, his title “I’ll never ever give up”. Even though bad luck is surrounding around oneself, never give up! Tomorrow is another day. Tomorrow must be better than today. He encouraged himself and ourselves. No.4 contestant was TM S, “Forever young”. It’s a dream. Even the member of AKB48, a young-girl-singer group, are going to reach 48 years old some day. But. TM S insisted that physical strength is decreasing but experience wisdom is increasing. Next was TM F, wearing Kimono with regard to her title, “Sharing tragedy”. She concluded that it is important for us to share historical tragedy to proceed of the memory towards younger generation. The final speech was TM C of “What a hell followed by!”. She talked about her climbing mount Fuji. It happened to be bad whether, like heavy rain and strong blowing wind, unfortunately on that day. Moreover, a big stone was hit her from somewhere. She stunned and lost her energy completely, but with some good help, managed to reach the top of the goal. An accident followed with her confidence and proud.

Some time after followed by TM D's interview session, Contest Chair announced the award of contestants. The winner was TM C, the second was TM F, the third, TM M. The first and second winners go to the next contest. And, the final winner will get to have a chance to go Las-Vegas.

Every member will be a candidate of the contest with enough skills. Let’s accumulate our skills in Nihonbashi Century Toastmasters Club.

Nihonbashi Cenutry Toastmaster's club meeting #49 was held on January 13th. It was the first meeting of the first year! It was held at the Chuo Sangyo Kaikan. To our surprise, the meeting was held in a Japanese style room.  Unlike the our standard meetings, all of us sat on the floor to listen to speeches. It supplied us with a different atmosphere which set the mood for the first meeting of the new year.

The meeting started off with the Table Topics Master, Jaehee Lee, giving members topics on where to take her friends when they visit Tokyo. There were many good recommendations, and it even made me want to explore Tokyo more.

Next we moved onto the prepared speeches. The first speech was given by TM Lin, on "The Importance of Staying Positive". Her speech inspired all of the Toastmasters in the room. TM Lin's speech was evaluated by TM Nishida.

             The second prepared speech was given by TM Ohara, who talked about how to make dry fruits, and even brought props to make dry fruits. Her speech was evaluated by TM Kato.

 

              The third speech was given by TM Matsumoto, who have a speech on his two cute dogs. He even brought in pictures of his cute dogs. His speech was evaluated by TM Dipesh.

              The last speech of the night was given by TM Sasanuki. Her speech was on the struggle to climb mountains. Her speech was evaluated by TM Chae.
